Description

A user has requested that we log (somewhere) a list of all files not imported by Shotwell, or perhaps an import report file, to get around the partial information we give in the dialog box. The request comes downstream: !https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/source/shotwell/bug/645862

This makes Shotwell unusable for me. Otherwise I like it and prefer it to other programs.

Obviously it is important that Shotwell be able to import all photos but I can't even begin to debug that without know what is failing.

Alistair MacLeod: The problem is not that something is failing (at least not at the Shotwell side). The request is to have a log of ALL the problems that occurred during F-Spot database import and not just first 5.
See the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/source/shotwell/bug/645862 or the output bellow that is displayed in a dialog box when the import is finished.

I would like to switch to Shotwell from F-Spot but I can't do it if I don't know which files were not imported and can't treat them individually.

89 duplicate photos were not imported:
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/201006/05/DSC_3528.NEF
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200512/28/DSC_7284.NEF
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200512/28/DSC_7288.NEF
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200512/28/DSC_7297.NEF
(and 85 more)

6 photos failed to import due to a file or hardware error:
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200512/27/DSC_7443.NEF
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200808/31/DSC_2739.NEF
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200306/29/DCP_3202.jpg
/mnt/nas/data/Photos Archive/Raw/200205/04/DCP_0750.JPG
(and 2 more)

67 non-image files skipped.

22991 photos successfully imported.

I agree, this is a big problem for people trying to import a large collection. I'd like to get this done for 0.14.
